Organization Overview
Catalina Island Women’s Forum is a nonprofit corporation. Our motto “Women making a Difference" reflects our goal of making a difference in our own lives, in the lives of our fellow members and in the lives of the women of our community.
Avalon is full of remarkable women. In May 1995, a group of these uncommon women met to discuss forming a chapter of a national organization. But they realized the benefit of launching a local organization, one that would directly impact our community. The group continued to meet and grow and by July 1995, the Catalina Island Women’s Forum was born.
One of our goals is to provide financial and emotional assistance to abused women and children in Avalon through our Domestic Abuse Intervention Program. We are also involved in a Student Mentoring & Scholarship Program in which members provide guidance to and act as role models for young women, demonstrating by example the wide range of life and career options available to them.
Mission
To create solutions for women’s issues in our community. To promote the physical, mental, professional, and business growth of Catalina women, emphasizing the strengths and skills each member brings to the organization and by concentrating available resources.
We are always open to new members and looking for community members to help in any way they see fit!
